  • Had a solid hamstring/glute workout tonight. Here are a few exercises that I included- RDL: 275lbs 4 sets 8-10 reps each (last set shown) Paused squats: 225lbs 4 sets 5 reps each with a 90 second rest in between each set Hip thrusts: 405lbs 7 reps (rep PR) Stayed at this weight for another 2 sets (got 5 reps for 2nd & 3rd set) Finished off with accessories for hams/glutes! No need to over complicate training. Stick to the basics & don't over think it🤷🏻‍♀️ 🎥: @sstephhernandez

  • Yesterday vs. 1 month into my first prep (2017) - Not only am I slimmer now, but I also have more muscle! - I’d like to take this time to thank my amazing strength coach Troy (@kenpachi_strength). When I finished my competition last July, I had a couple months where I fell of the band wagon. I gained 20lbs REAL QUICK and with low intensity workouts and poor nutrition. I had outside factors involved with that, but that’s besides the point. I needed something to focus on. I needed to put my energy back into my heart and soul.. which lies within the gym. Since I needed to focus on building rather than cutting, I chose to get a strength coach. I met Troy in college (FHP 💪🏻) so I already knew what his knowledge level was. I knew he’d be the perfect person to help me reach my goals. I had a base knowledge of strength training, but Troy took it to a whole different level! He taught me so many tips and tricks that I never would have even THOUGHT of, to ensure I was lifting in a way to optimize performance and safety. If anyone is looking to learn how to lift properly (strength or not) you NEED to contact this guy! Since beginning “prep” I have ceased coaching with Troy, but he comes highly recommended🤘🏻

  • Chest/Delts/Tris: I have not been able to train any overhead or high incline movements due to a shoulder dislocation awhile back and some broken ribs. It’s taken me quite a few months to figure out what rehab techniques to help me get rid of the pain and instability and gain back full function. My delts are probably lacking the most from modifying my training a bit but I’m finally easing into some overhead pressing and feeling confident. Feeling pretty damn hungry this week and only feeling mildly full for about 45 mins after I eat. Trying to stick with as heavy a weight as I can push for as long as I can 😤. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 1. Slight Incline SM Press: 3x6 working sets + DS at end 2. Mod Inc Cable Flys: 4x10-12 w/ slight pause at bottom 3. Seated Chest Press: 3x8 working sets + DS ——————————————————————————— **Superset**🔃 4. Lateral Cable Raises: 4 sets of 1.5s and extending set with partials 5. SM Overhead Press: 4 sets working up in weight as tolerated ——————————————————————————— **Superset**🔃 6.
