  • big girl stuff today :) updating my LinkedIn, got my lift in first thing in the morning, didn’t spend money on uber (this is a big deal for me guys, Fr fr) and finallllly got to go to my meditation center. My schedule hasn’t really allowed for it but I managed to sneak it in today. To say it was needed is an understatement. Plans for this semester: I’m working officially now with my school’s news team - I honestly put this off for a couple years bc it’s hard work and more work than any of my classes. BUT it’s the most important thing I can do for my future self rn. So it’s a priority. Also looking to join a rec soccer team here because I feel like it’s my last chance and I want to overcome the mental battle that is playing sports post ACL surgery. I haven’t stepped on a field since the day I tore it. Anyway, that’s it for now. Happy Thursday pals 🖤

  • Just over a week and a half into my Lean Gains Challenge! I’m so proud of all the hard work all of my competitors are putting in and the support they’re showing each other on our group Facebook page! ❤️💪🙌 - I’m sitting at around 126 lbs (starting weight was 128) and the obliques are kinda sorta coming out to play. 💁‍♀️ - The beginning phases of a cut can often be the hardest. I try to stay transparent and honest because I remember how impressionable and vulnerable I was at 17-21. I believed everything that the fitness moguls of this app said, even though so much of it was bullshit. I want to keep it real, and know that if I’m influencing anyone like the girl I used to be, she deserves to see all sides and all ups and downs! I’m not “fitness” 100% of the time. I have a fitness oriented lifestyle and I’m in the gym 5 days a week, but I have a ton of wiggle room and flexibility in my life now, while hitting my goals. Time with friends and family comes first, and that doesn’t mean I go all in on treats, but I definitely indulge. Like a physical sore heart because of the stress and grief. Anyways to anyone else suffering heart break, I wish you blessings in this day and the strength to keep fighting on. I’m sure in time it gets better, but I haven’t enough experience or time to know yet. 💕

Only child so definitely always looking to make friends with y’all! - Graduated college in 2010 as a premed student, got into med school but fell in love with health coaching and training. So, made the decision to go full time and not go to medical school. I know I know BUT WHY YOU ASK?! 🙈 - I loved the fact that I could help others on the preventative side.   • #throwbackthursday to the most unhealthy I have ever been physically, mentally, spiritually. This was my last show I competed in and I can honestly say at that point I was full of so much self hatred that it didn’t matter that I was 115 lbs and the leanest I had ever been. I just wanted it to be over. That is when I found Jiu Jitsu and the healing began. Although definitely not easy and definitely not all at once. Recovering from severely disordered eating takes a long time. A LONG time. Especially when it becomes ingrained in you at a young age. This was over 5 years ago and after this show is when I put forth the effort to love myself and to love food. For so many female athletes, it is hard to overcome periods of severely strict dieting followed by going overboard and binging. It becomes an obsession and then you break. . . . Early last after months of being sick and bouts of weight gain and loss, I embarked on a journey of just trying to be happy with myself. Trying to get to the reason behind my disordered eating habits. Because I knew if I really wanted to get better and feel better for the long haul I would have to work on that part of myself. Really dig deep and heal. . . Instead of just trying to “fix it” and make it “good enough” to get back to my normal life and activities. . . It was hard because I had put on so much weight from being sick and I felt so 💩💩💩 most of the time, but I was determined to heal my gut and my heart. . . . I can say that after 12 years of disordered eating ranging from severe to mild, with constant work, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I finally feel like I have the healthy mindset surrounding myself and my fitness life that I have longed for. I feel like last year was my year of stepping back and healing and this year is my year to take my healthy mindset and conquer old goals that have been on the back burner!! ✌️❤️

  • #ANKLESTABILITY Exercises By popular request, maybe cause lot of y'all have glass ankles, we're talking about how to prevent ankle instability or ankle pain. The unfortunate thing about ankle sprains is once we sprain the ligament, the ligament remains permanently stretched out. That means that the ankle forever remains mild unsteady and at risk for a future injury, resulting inchronic instability. However, the body is very resilient to stress and is able to make #positiveadaptations through strengthening muscles AROUND the ankle, and improving single leg stability. Good therapists should not just focus on the ankle for rehab, but working on proprioception and trunk control to reduce the likelihood of future injury. Trust...I was (and maybe still am) a chronic ankle sprain guy from years of basketball, but have worked tirelessly to prevent it from happening again. . 1. Single leg forward hop with 3-way cone touch - try to keep your pelvis level, keeping the glutes tight in the stance position before bending forward. 2. Elevated heel single leg balance with overhead raise and trunk rotation using the foam roll. - really importany to keep the knee in line with your 2nd toe, and rotate the trunk without rotating your pelvis. 3. Lateral cone hop to alternate single leg stance. - most sports require some lateral movement, so it makes sense to focus on this and prevent the ankle from inverting on the landing. Disclaimer: these are definitely more advanced level exercises, so try at your own risk. For some reason I seem to be really struggling with keeping my back straight when squatting or deadlifting. Although this is a criticism on my form I think it's really important to realise where you are going wrong so you can improve.

With break coming to a close the next few days are really busy trying to get everything together but I’m enjoying every minute of it 😊 this morning was leg day and it was probably one of the shortest workouts I’ve done in forever but whatcha gonna do 🤷🏼‍♀️ After I went for brunch with some friends (swipe ⏩) and challenges myself to some waffles and they were fAnTaStIc 🤤 anyways I’m off to work now! I hope you’re all having an awesome end to your week 💕
