  • #gymshark66 Today I wanted to reflect on a post that has made the rounds on Instagram and that I also talked about a LOT on both my stories and the @gracefituk @gracefitguide Facebook group. For those of you who don’t know, a local supplement shop shared a post which implied that people (specifically women) were alone on Valentine’s Day because they weren’t fit enough. Notwithstanding the ridiculous notion that your fitness level has anything to do with your relationship status, I HATE this concept of being “enough”. The language used in the ad talked about being in better shape. I cannot fathom what this means since I have never ever met two girls who have exactly the same body shape. We are all differently proportioned and there is no objective standard to reach which suddenly qualifies you as having a “good shape.” The whole concept is ridiculous. I know I’m not a typical insta fit girl but I couldn’t care less!! I love the gym and I love lifting, and my confidence comes from my ability and NOT how I look. It scares me to think of the potential impact this idea can have on vulnerable people and I just want you all to know that the best shape you can be in is YOUR SHAPE. You are beautiful and worth so much more than how you look!! So to all my friends and followers, never let anyone tell you that you’re not fit “enough” or in good “enough” shape - you are ENOUGH.

Every time I think about cooking it I just get grossed out, so apparently I WAY overdid it on the chicken for the last couple months 🤷. . . I finally got around to doing the Valentine's @streetparking WOD. It crushed my soul a bit. I scaled it to 12-10-8-6 reps of each per round and it still took 27 min. I then took a half hour break, contemplated the meaning of life, rallied, and did tomorrow's OLY.   • Yoga for everybody. When friends get together magic happens 🙏 Today I ran a private mini retreat for a group of super fit women but mixed ability in terms of yoga practice. Lots of yang and fun poses, arm balances, handstands and other various poses. Followed by partner poses and yin poses. These images are just a few of the partner yoga. Partner yoga is always an option as not everybody wants to get so close to another. But these women are all really good friends and they loved the partner yoga. Yoga helps build trust and respect and friendships. #yogaevents #yogaclass # 🙏 We enjoyed a shared lunch and some lovely free chocolate, very kindly sent to me by @ohsogoodforyou. Thank you to all who came to the session today and for letting me take a few photos of your event. 🙏 If you have a group of friends, family or work colleagues or a special occasion coming up then book a private yoga session.
