  • I was really skinny as a kid and I was bullied for it. You would think that being bullied for being skin and bones would have made me want to gain weight but it did the opposite. Knowing everyone noticed my size made me self conscious. Over time, I convinced myself I was fat bc I didn’t have a six pack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The bullying faded but my negative Mindset didn’t. I started working out a lot in the 9th grade. I did minimal weight lifting and a lot of running. Over the next four years, I learned a lot and started lifting more but cardio was still my baby. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fast forward to the December of my freshman year in college. I am not sure what switched in my mind but I was suddenly over it all. I was tired of not feeling good enough, not feeling strong enough, working out solely for the purpose of looking good just someone to just turn around and judge me and I was honestly so miserable in my own body. So, what’s the most logical thing I could think of doing? Compete for my first bodybuilding competition (🤦🏽‍♀️). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I LOVED IT! I had no idea what I was doing and had zilch to pay a coach but I put my ALL into training and learning. I placed sixth place at my first comp on July 4th 2013. This lot a fire under my a**. I had found a new passion and I wanted to help others feel just as great! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Senior year, I couldn’t maintain my stage weight or look (hindsight: it’s not realistic or healthy to do so) I slowly grew frustrated and lost motivation. Its been a roller coaster ever since. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The point of this novel is to remind you we are all on our own journey and we are all at different parts of life. You May think reaching your end goal will give you all the happiness you want, but it’s not about your destination it’s about the journey (and there will ALWAYS be ups and downs). If you are still reading this, then I’m talking to YOU. Stop comparing yourself to others. Stop looking at the parts of yourself you don’t like and focus on what you do like. Stop listening to yourself and start talking positivity into your life. Progress trumps perfection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💕 #itsyourstory ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • “If there is no struggle, there is no Progress.” _ So here are my results for the @1stphorm 8 week Fall Sprint Challenge. _ 58 days in total for this challenge. _ 58 days of Clean healthy eating. _ 58 days of implementing good quality supplementation through 1stPhorm. _ 58 days of drinking gallons and gallons of water for hydration. _ 58 days of hard nose training. _ And 58 days of SOME decent sleep thanks to my minions 👨‍👧‍👧 😂 _ But in all seriousness, these are a few of the key nuances and intricacies that I consistently implemented, not just during this challenge but more so over the last year as I’ve changed my ways and changed my life. _ Do I have a long way to go to my goals? _ Hell ya I do. _ But that consistency and those good habits that I’ve instilled are ultimately going to get me to my goals and are derived from nothing more than hard core discipline and that willingness to change. _ Once you decide, once you commit, you can change. _ But that decision starts with you. _ Is it going to be easy? _ Hell no! _ I constantly have daily struggles. _ But I’ll tell ya this. Here’s the thing with many of my transformation pictures, and you’ll soon pick up on this if you haven’t already...i tried to cover and hide my body in every single picture. Why? Because I hated my body. Why? Because I drank dozens of frozen cocktails like the one pictured and never took care of my body. So it’s SUPER hard for me to find pictures like this, because I would do everything in my power to avoid any pictures. But, I found this hidden gem and I just had to share it. . . The ones that I take now are filled with confidence because I work DAMN hard 6 days a week to maintain what I have going on now. I freaking love it. Best feeling in the world and I wouldn’t trade anything to feel 1000% all the time. . . People always ask me how I stay so motivated, how I always want to workout, etc. Truth is, whatever I tell you won’t help you. Only YOU can start the fire within you. Only YOU can decide how hard you want to work and how good you want to feel. I can sure as heck help out, but at the end of the day, it’s up to you how badly you want it. If you want it bad enough, I know you’ll find it. I did. It nearly saved me. Taking care of my body has been the best thing that I could have ever done for myself.   • •My freshmen year in college I let myself go. I was eating unhealthy every single day and on days when I was trying to “stay on track”, I’d basically starve myself. Either way, I wasn’t giving my body the appropriate amount of nutrients or calories it needed each day.☹️ • On the left side of this image, I was weighing in at an alarming 145 Ibs. I’m 5’3 and my BMI told me upon entering my numbers that I was overweight by several Ibs. This isn’t what I wanted for myself and I knew I needed to make a change. I made a goal for myself before I left for summer vacation. My goal was to change my life around, to lose the freshmen 20, to eat healthier, and to lead a better life style as a whole. I started walking/running daily, eating healthier foods, and monitoring my portions for meals. •At the end of the summer, the day before I went back to college this year, I stepped on the scale and it read 125 Ibs. I had lost my freshmen 20. I had accomplished the goal that I personally had set for myself. I was beyond happy but I knew my journey wasn’t stopping there and in all honesty the journey to be a healthier me will never really stop. •The image on the right is a picture I took about 2 weeks ago. Still weighing in at about 125 Ibs. I couldn’t be more proud of what I’ve accomplished.😆At the beginning of the school year I could barely bench the bar, now I have 10 Ibs. on each side. For squats, I also started with just the bar, now I have a 35 Ib. plate on each side. These are just a few examples, but my point is, is that I’ve accomplished my goals and then some. As I said before, my journey hasn’t stopped. I didn’t stop at losing 20 Ibs. because it isn’t just about losing the weight and keeping it off... it’s also about getting stronger every day, pushing the limits, and improving myself to the best of my ability in every way I can. • There are so many people in my life that have been a positive influence, so many people that have motivated me. Probably done on the TRX. # I’m making this shit harder by doing it with resistance bands. # 🔹Tie 2 bands on a pole or anything that you can tie it to. 🔹You’ll need a rock climbing hook to attach to 1 side. 🔹Place your feet on top of the band and make sure it holds you up # This is just a much harder way to do these. (Timeout, anytime somebody makes that type of statement you know there’s a “but” coming and here it is 👉🏽) BUT, I’m so tired of reading post here where people play the victim. _ Playing the victim may get you some sympathy likes and comments on the old Instagram here but, the truth is...YOUR thoughts and YOUR actions create YOUR reality! If you don’t like your reality then you should change the creator. YOU! Allow me to personalize this so you don’t feel as if I’m just here pointing the finger. The problems that I have in my life are on me. My fault. Nobody else’s....Mine! 🙋🏾‍♂️ In order to get rid of those problems, I’m the one that needs to make the necessary adjustments!! _ This also holds true about the people you have around you. Stop talking shit about how bad he is or how bad she was and how they do/did you so wrong. We have to start taking some accountability for the type of people that we attract/allow into our lives. _ The reality here is that to some capacity, the people you have around you are a reflection of what you think about yourself. So if “they” don’t reflect what you think about you then why not just get rid of “they.” _ The great thing about all of this is that one of the main ways to change what we attract/allow is to simply change our minds. _ (Example. I changed my mind. I don’t want you around anymore. Good bye.✌🏾) _ Here’s an over used cliche to end this message that I believe holds true. Ready? Ok... _ “The more aware of your reality you are the less your reality needs to fall apart in order to get your attention.” _ Now I typically would leave that right here and end this message right there but I’m inspired to elaborate. _ In closing what all of this means to me is that there’s no real value in playing the victim. Everything that you have going on in your life (good and bad) starts and ends with you. So....Adjust accordingly. 🤷🏽‍♂️ _ Now that I’ve got that off of my chest.
