  • Throwback to when I was painting Maddy’s house or throwback to when I was in Budapest? Idk, you decide 😂 haha no but actually, I’m incredibly proud of the progress I’ve made in the last year. Today has marked my 1 year fitness journey. However, I’ve come to learn that there is no end date as exercise/nutrition becomes a lifestyle. You progress and learn more each day. I’ve been looking into a few programs from different people that I want to start in the new year as well.   • The ever neglected posterior delt... like many others this was a part of my physique that was lacking in development. It’s easily neglected during training in favor or more enjoyable movements and focusing on the “showy” muscles you can see in the mirror. . It’s a relatively small part of the deltoid and requires very specific and focused training to create enough stimulus for growth. I made it my priority to isolate and target the posterior delt both on my back/pull day as well as on my shoulder/delt day. . My tips for improvement: 1️⃣ Increase training frequency (2-3 times per week) 2️⃣ Use a variety of rep ranges and training techniques such as super sets and drop set. Both heavy and lighter weights. 3️⃣ Start your shoulder day with rear delts as opposed to a press.   • Today’s my first time back at the gym in over a month. I gained weight over the last month and am now losing again. Lost 6kgs this past week! Woo! I was too scared to come back to the gym for so long because I thought people would notice I had gained weight.. lol it sounds so silly to say but honestly I kept telling my family I can’t go back because people will judge me and honestly today I just thought fk it. Worse case scenario, say someone I know sees me and thinks that.. so what? It’s not like they’re going to say it straight to my face, that’s their thought and they’re entitled to think that. My heart was pounding even on my way here and I was so nervous to walk in. Which is crazy cause a month ago, I was so excited to come to the gym to train, it was a highlight for me and I’d be annoyed if there was a day I couldn’t come and train. And again, people most likely won’t care about whatever I’m doing cause people are worrying about their own shit. A bitch is back 👊🏼

  • Stretch your diaphragm!!...?! 🤔 • • • The diaphragm is one of the biggest muscles in your body. It is your primary breathing muscle and also part of your core, as it attaches to the lumbar spine, rib cage, and hip flexors. 💪🏽 • • • Your diaphragm can get tight just like any other muscle, and when it does, it can wreak havoc on your system. Best to stretch it out! 😵 • • • Your diaphragm shortens when you breathe in, and stretches when you breathe out. If we train our abdominals to depress the ribcage on the breath out, our diaphragm achieves an optimal domed position and is stretched.🧘🏽‍♂️ • • • Overtime, we can lose the ability to fully depress the ribs, and thus the ability to stretch the diaphragm.
