We were very lucky to be invited to a preview of @floriade_australia NightFest tonight.
As the sun sets over Commonwealth Park, Floriade becomes an illuminated wonderland. NightFest features five nights of entertainment, food, and more from Wednesday 26 September until Sunday 30 September.
Come early and grab some dinner as the flower beds across Floriade light up the night. Take a wander through the illuminated mesmerising Nautalis Forest with its spiraling trees that ripple and pulse with colour, before heading to the stage for the nightly entertainment.
Grab some popcorn and a blanket on Wednesday as Stage 88 transforms into an open-air cinema for Movie NightFest. The festival heats up on Thursday with performances from Lucy Sugerman, Mojo Juju and Thelma Plum, before Bowie Unzipped and Kate Miller-Heidke hit the stage on Friday. Get your dance moves ready for Party NightFest on Saturday night before capping off the week with Akmal Saleh, Arj Barker and more at MA 15+ Comedy NightFest on Sunday.

Throw back to #floriade2018 in #canberra when my friend @franakles and I went together as the cutest couple and parking was a nightmare. At least the #flowers were nice and the company was pretty good too~

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow. Helen Keller ☀️ It’s raining here today which is awesome for our drought stricken region, lots of cuddles today with my sick toddler....on the plus side I have lots of time to work on my website and new blog ideas! Always a bright side! How’s the weather where you are?

Visitor numbers at this year’s Floriade were up by more than 45,000 over last year and were just short of setting a new record for the floral festival.
A total of 480,540 people attended the 30-day festival in 2018 which this year had a new format which included more local food offerings, Jazz in the Park on Sunday afternoons and a different theme for every night of NightFest. Photo by @glynisquinlan.
