I’m so hungry 😋 1,2,3,or 4? ~ lunch 1 details 👉🏻 Leftover honey garlic shrimp (recipe a few posts back or on my blog!) + asparagus cooked in the George foreman for 5 minutes with pink Himalayan salt and pepper + sautéed mushrooms + tomatoes + spinach all cooked in the skillet in olive oil for 5-8 mins lunch 2 details 👉🏻 6 minute salmon (recipe also posted on my website now!) : Heat a skillet over medium heat, add avocado oil, cook for 3 mins on each side. Seasoned my salmon with new bae seasoning. Layered on top of sweet potato toast (broiled on bottom shelf for 10 mins) + sautéed spinach + 1/2 mashed avocado Lunch 3 details 👉🏻Turkey burgers. Chipotle lime sweet potato fries: 2 med sweet potato fries cut into fries coated with: 2 tbsp avocado oil, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp chipotle powder, 1/2 lime squeezed on.   • Back in the days when I would go to random workout classes or wander the gym- I never really understood why anyone would use supplements. I thought they were all full of chemicals and that people used them for show rather than to actually fuel their body. Then came the day where I figured out what it really means to be committed to exercise. And in that, I found out that if I wanted to get the results I wanted (lean muscle), I needed more protein and nutrition than I could eat on my own... or more than I wanted to pay in a visit to Huckleberries. I learned that after every exercise I need to be fueling my body with protein, BCAA’s help rebuild muscle and aid in muscle fatigue, pre-workout can fuel my body with the amount of energy & endurance needed to execute a good workout, superfoods & adaptogens help fuel my body across the board- endocrine, mentally, immune system, gut, skin. If I want my body to be strong like an athlete- I should be fueling it like one. And not with shitty products- I would rather stay away from anything synthetically made and seek out companies who have high standards for their products. So, there you have it.   • Home made coconut yogurt in the instant pot w/o the yogurt button💫 The base of this recipe I found in the ketotarian book I posted about yesterday. The recipe 👇🏻 •2 cans of full fat coconut milk (I like to use the Thai Kitchen brand) •1 tbsp agar flakes •2 probiotic capsules taken apart Instructions: •Combine milk & agar flakes in the instant pot. Set the pot to sauté, bring mixture to a boil. Using a sterilized utensil whisk until the agar flakes are dissolved. •Once the mixture has boiled & reaches 180F, turn the pot off. •Allow the mixture to cool to 110F to 115F to allow for fermentation. •When the milk has cooled, break apart the capsules & add the probiotic powder to the pot, stir with a wooden spoon. Metal will deactivate the probiotic. •If you have the yogurt button it sets it to the ideal temperature for fermentation. •If you don’t have the yogurt button, after you add the probiotic, close the lid & wrap the instant pot in a towel. Place somewhere warmish in your house (not near a window). Allow to ferment for 24 hours. If you want a more tangy sour like tasting yogurt, leave longer. When it’s done it should smell tangy and the consistency should be like yogurt! I like mine more sour so I can use it as a thickener in sauces. If you want it to be sweet you can add whatever sweetener you want before or after the fermentation.

When the car isn't used and it's not taken care off, it will just get rusty and break. Same our bodies if we would end up just lying down and not moving. The muscles will get weaker and eventually they will lose their function. Driving a short distances isn't also the best for a car's engine. Same for our body, it need a little bit more movement. There is so many forms of exercise. If you haven't found one you like, just keep trying. You will find one you love! Run, Cycle, Swim, Dance, Lift, Climb go to a fitness class, we can help you to find something you love @fitnesssoul.co.uk . . . The car needs some maintenance: changing oils and other bits reguraly. Same as us we need to trigger our brains and bodies with new things in order to keep our mental and physical health. . . .   • WINTER SQUASH CHEESECAKE Makes 4 servings Per serving: 1 vegetable serving, ¾ protein serving, 2 condiments 2 cups kabocha squash puree 2 cups soft low fat ricotta or soft goat cheese 4 packets Stevia 1 tsp cinnamon ¼ tsp clove ¼ tsp ground ginger ¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg 3 eggs Preheat your oven to 300° F. Place all filling ingredients (except eggs) in a food processor, and blend until a smooth and creamy consistency. Add the eggs and continue to food process until the entire mixture is blended and creamy. Pour filling mixture into the pan. Bake in the oven for about 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until set. Remove from oven, place on a cooling rack. Cool completely for at least 4 hours. . . I had the strongest urge to binge, and had to keep leaving the kitchen. But, I was able to slow down and think about what the consequences would be and whether that would be worth it…I’ve never been that self-aware and conscious so this is a big deal for me☺️ I was able to enjoy one, and be satisfied. I tweaked the original recipe a little so I’ll leave how I made them below. Have a good day everyone!🤩 . . dEATS: @melismonstercookies Cashewlicious cookie mix + 1/3 cup of water + 1/2 cup of peanut butter + 1 egg + 3 T of @cbdsuperfood Dark Chocolate CBD Ghee + a splash of pure vanilla extract + a dash of cinnamon // Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix everything together and let it chill in the fridge until your oven is ready. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, scoop out 1-2 inch sized balls of dough, with at least 2 inches of space in between. Be careful, these WILL spread out! Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool before removing from the sheet and enjoying! This made 18 cookies for me🌟 #sweetslikejen #melismonstercookies #learningfrombalance

Recipe: 1 cup of almond flour 1/2 cup of nut butter 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tbsp coconut flour 1/4 cup of sweetener (I used @lakantosweetener) 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp baking soda 2 scoops of @vitalproteins (optional) 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (optional) 2 zucchinis grated Preheat oven to 350. Grate the zucchinis and ring out the excess moisture with some towels. Next, mix the wet ingredients together and combine with the dry ingredients. Pour into a parchment lined 8x8 baking dish. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. This recipe was inspired by @kalejunkie chocolate chip zucchini muffins

Ironically, I had no idea that the changes we were embarking upon for the health & wellbeing of our family, would benefit me the most, almost immediately! ~ Hands up if you have ever lacked courage, confidence & self esteem? Yeah, me neither ;-) Despite having a loving family growing up, I sadly allowed a lack of confidence & low self esteem to rule my life as a young woman resulting in an eating disorder & an extremely unhealthy obsession with body image. Though this is so far in my past I can talk about it today, I know that for others, it is not such a distant memory & you are battling it out everyday. Even now, developing a sense of self worth & self value is a continuous & upward climb for me in different areas of my life. (Told you I’m an open book!) & honestly, men, I am so aware of how this affects you just as much as women. ~ Firstly let me say that there is no shame in taking medicine for mental health as will I say that seeking out people to talk to such as a therapist will go a long way in over-coming mental disorders or challenging times in life. Not written on my graphic, avocados are also a natural source of glutathione. An avocado's glutathione levels averages about 8.4 mg per 30 g or 19 mg per one-half fruit. This is several fold higher than the glutathione content of other fruits. Glutathione is not only a very important bodily antioxidant, most of which we make ourselves, but dietary glutathione may serve a unique purpose—reducing oxidative stress for your gut bacteria. This is a theory, but might explain some of the health benefits observed in consumers of foods which contain glutathione (mushrooms are another source). . 🤔 I love to have my avocado in salads, with eggs, and just straight out of the skin “shell” with some salt sprinkled on top. The nutritional value provided by hemp seed is high; they have a considerable amounts of dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals, rich in essential amino acids, and about 25% protein. Hemp seed oil is high in polyunsaturated fatty acids and the essential fatty acids, linoleic acid (omega-3) and alpha-linoleic acids (omega-6). Hemp seeds blend well into a creamy yogurt, make a great hemp nut butter, add a nutty flavor to salads, smoothies, or soups, and make a great nut milk too! Add a little hemp seeds to your meal for a little extra nutrient boost! Hemp Yogurt recipe: 1 cup Hemp seeds 1 banana 1 avocado 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 tbsp. maple syrup 4 tbsp. coconut oil 2/3 cup water Poor over your favorite fruit mixture and top with nuts and cinnamon.
