Been feeling extremely down on myself lately and my body image definitely hasn’t been the best... Today I caught myself hating on my body and not being happy with how it looked. Decided to give myself a little wake up call and reminder of just how far I’ve come over the years by comparing some old photos to how I look now... All I can say is damn I’m happy I developed a better relationship with food and decided to step in the gym six years ago🙃😅
Please please please don’t discredit all the hard work you’ve put in. I know it can be easy to do when you aren’t seeing crazy progress consistently all the time... But just try to be proud of where you are now and give yourself a little reminder every now and again of how hard you’ve worked and far you’ve come... These little reminders will make you feel so much better I promise 😍 I know I sure as hell needed the reminder today. I seriously love all you beautiful hoomans♥️ Keep on crushing it and working hard... be patient and remember to cheer yourself on the whole freaking way 🤩🤙🏼 -

I was hesitant to post about this because I try to post happy content on my page but the truth is life is sometimes hard and throws curveballs you never expect, we have all gone through it or maybe someday will we will have too. I’ve learned we have a choice to overcome or sit and cry, and I’ve done both lately. - -
I had to remind myself who I was, that I’m strong and I can be happy. ❤️-

“YOU CHANGED MY LIFE WITH ONE SENTENCE”
... is what a woman told me yesterday, honesty and gratitude shining in her eyes.
Last week, she asked me for tips to slim down her thighs.
I told her the physical steps to doing so, but also asked her:
“Would having slimmer thighs actually make your life better? Would all that effort and sacrifice really pay off?”
The surprise and uncertainty on her face told me that she had never considered that.
She hadn’t considered that the “perfect” body we are conditioned to desire comes with consequences.
She hadn’t considered that changing her body to fit the mold wouldn’t even yield a “net positive”.
Because we’re all made to believe that being...
... would somehow automatically make life BETTER.
I’ve tested that theory. I’ve done the “no days off”, tunnel vision thing.. and guess what? I was even LESS happy than before.
Because at the end of the day, we’re all just looking for PERMISSION to embrace what we already have. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We all want to be able to just ENJOY this body we live in.
So when I told her this one sentence:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “there’s nothing wrong with having thick thighs”
... it was like I turned her world upside down.
She had never considered the option to just EMBRACE her current body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that realization changed her life.
That’s not to say that I’m anyone special or that it was ONLY me who could deliver that message. I just happened to be the one who delivered that truth to her. Right place, right time.
It’s also not to say that you CAN’T have physique goals. But they shouldn’t stem from a lack of self-acceptance or a belief that changing your body will change your mind.
So please consider that you’re perfectly imperfect, just the way you are.
Consider that evolving your mindset and relationship with yourself might be what you need, not changing your body.
Consider that you don’t NEED to change, but you CAN if your heart + mind are working together ❤️

I am transitioning solo into the low fat raw food lifestyle, without support from my parents with whom I live with. Quite frankly, they are reluctant to even hear about it.
My dad sees me eating fruits, and criticizes how I am trying to achieve my goals. How do I deal with unsupportive parents? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I would first sit them down and tell them honestly that even if they don't agree with your diet, you're doing what you feel is best, and their fretting is undermining your ability to function.
Tell them that their support would mean the world to you, and if they cannot support you, ask that they at least cease from commenting on your diet at all.
If you parents cannot respect these simple wishes then it may be time to move out and find a better environment to live in.
Also be aware that success is the best way to bring people around to seeing the wisdom in what you're doing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My parents certainly thought I a bit crazy when I told them I was going vegan while still in college. They told me I needed animal protein, etc, because that is what their doctors tell them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I went raw a few years later, they thought I was even more cracked. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yet as time went by they saw me not only holding my own, but thriving. My body composition, athletic ability, mental poise and general health skyrocketed. Frankly, I started looking and feeling better than I ever had in my life, and it was very hard for them to find fault with what I was doing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I encourage you to get your ducks in a row. Make exercise, getting enough sleep, hydration, and mental poise a focus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Things seemed to just pile up & add to anxiety that was already elevated because of finals week. I had my most worrisome final this afternoon, something I’ve been thinking about for WEEKS. Even after, when there’s nothing to do but wait, I feel every second like it’s squeezing my heart and lungs 😶
So tonight I took out ALLLLL those nerves at the gym for almost two hours 🙈 I sweated it out in hopes it would help me sleep better tonight & I KNOW it will. I. Am. Beat. 😴
One more exam tomorrow and I can successfully say I made it out of my first semester of college alive 🥳 I hope everyone makes it through these last couple days before the holidays really kick in with a smile on their face and joy in their hearts. 13 days til Christmas ❤️

I love that I (and my family) has the option to reach for a hand soap that kills germs & bacteria but is free from chemicals like triclosan, fragrance and parfum (which are all hormone disrupters and found in many cleansing products). Do yourself a favor and research the chemicals listed on the hand soaps you currently use. Then come chat with me about an alternative option. So I officially gained 10 lbs yesterday & am full term with my food baby.. 😂 but I Hope everyone had an amazing thanksgiving! This brings up an important point. I was going to talk about this on stories yesterday morning before the feasting began but just wanted to be present in the day with friends so I stayed off social media.
I have dealt with disordered eating in the past & I know how stressful the holidays can be for someone experiencing it. It can completely ruin your time & fully take over your thoughts. Over exercising that day to make up for calorie consumption, starving yourself until dinner to be able to indulge, working out after, fasting the next day, etc. It took me YEARS to practice & finally get to a place where I can enjoy the holidays with friends & family, over indulge a little, & not fully want to go full-throttle the next day to kill my self in reversing any negative damage I may have done the day before. 🤦♀️ I’m not saying my thoughts are 100%, but they’ve come light years from how it used to be. For our mental sake, why not give ourselves that couple of days a year to fully indulge with our loved ones? It’s not worth looking back years from now, realizing how short life is, & being like damn.. I spent that whole time dieting or worrying about the way I look. ONE DAY DOESNT MATTER. So I hope everyone treated themselves & woke up today feeling good about their decisions!
