  • Conquered my mind, conquered my day🙌🏻 Life, as it sometimes goes, had me feeling like😭 It was time for my strength training session, but I was frozen in my car, totally having a pity party💔 As I sat there, I thought about what I do when running gets really tough;💡I talk to myself and I use motivating mantras! So I took this skill and applied it to my sad, unmotivated self. Before long I found myself in the gym where I belonged, having a successful strength session🏋🏻‍♀️ And now I feel on top of the world both physically and mentally. De acordo com os dados obtidos no primeiro teste, foi feito um ajuste na minha planilha de treino de corrida feito pelo @lufdrade (@clube12km) e nesse segundo teste conseguimos identificar uma melhora significativa no desempenho como ECONOMIA DE CORRIDA, VELOCIDADE ASSOCIADA AO LIMIAR ANAEROBIO, e VO2 MÁXIMO. E a evolução continua .. espero e quero evoluir ainda mais nesse esporte que aprendi a amar😊.. . Sobre essa avaliação: Esse é um teste de muita importância para quem pratica corrida e busca performance pois ele mostra seus principais pontos fracos e forte, onde vc pode evoluir, ou mesmo para quem está começando a correr e busca apenas qualidade de vida, ele mostra em que ritmo vc deve fazer para um gasto calórico mais eficiente.   • I'm registered for an ultra marathon (32 miles) tomorrow. I'm not going for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that there's a 90% chance of rain. That's over 5 hours wet and I'll be honest, I'm in no shape to run that far. (Ok I'd be closer to 6 hours 😬) So instead I'll go to Ohio to my family Christmas party and meet my brand new nephew. 💃😍 And I'm totally at peace with this decision. I've learned my lesson about being miserable running races in the rain. I know my limits and the difference between fulfilling my commitments and making myself miserable when it comes to races. On another note, I'm excited about my run this morning.   • “Surround yourself with those who only lift you higher.” -Oprah Winfrey (I ❤️ Oprah!)⁣ ⁣ I intentionally seek out people who are positive, happy and are working toward self-improvement to spend my time with. Last night I went to my running club’s annual holiday party and their excitement for running rubbed right off on me. Even though I cant make it to the club’s Wednesday night speed workouts, I was really inspired last night by my fellow runners and laced up my shoes today and went out and tackled a speed workout on my own. ⁣ ⁣ The workout was 8x800 at half marathon pace with 1 min rest (I’ve been using the @oiselle and @karagoucher plan on Oiselle’s website) and I felt strong and controlled and the fact that all my intervals were faster than goal pace gave me a boost in confidence. It’s always hard to start a speed workout but I never regret it when it’s done!⁣ ⁣ Who inspires you to improve?   • 8 miles or pure amazing! One of those runs where my legs were ready to go. . I had a whirlwind of a two day trip out to New Jersey for work. I work in sales for a sports software company, so a lot of school visits were squeezed in. I managed to get in two easy treadmill runs in the morning but that left me feeling EXHAUSTED. Especially with a 7am flight home. I am the kind of person who needs at least 7 hours minimum to function - so those trips can set me off a bit. Hence the 12 hours of glorious sleep last night to catch up. . I loved this run. The sun was out, the temp was perfect, and my playlist was 🔥Sometimes during my runs when I am REALLY feeling the adrenaline and a bad ass song comes on it makes me literally want to cry 😭Goosebumps and adrenaline during a run are the best. . My dad is in town and we’re going to the Nebraska vs. Creighton basketball game tonight. A big in-state rivalry.   • “Strength grows in the moments when you think you can’t go on but keep going anyway” __ Weather this weekend calls for 100% rain so decided 2:35 wake up sounded better than 20 miles on the treadmill. This morning there were many times I wanted to just crawl back into and sleep but I thought about the bigger picture. I pictured myself crossing the @charlestonmarathon . I reminded myself throughout the run that I am a Bad A$$ and today was going to a great day. I crushed 20 miles before 6am Taught 19 first grade students at differentiated level for seven hours. Went to the gym did three shake out miles, lifted upper body, and did core work. Came home cleaned the house and walked my Dizzy boy. Treating myself to Chinese take out and laying my booty on the couch with hubs to binge watch @theranchnetflix !! Happy weekend!!!🙌🏼

  • I haven’t officially committed to 50 marathons in 50 states but I may have a magnet collection for the ones I have checked off the list. ✨ I knocked off two from the list this year ( #RevelRockies and #PhillyMarathon) and am starting to think where the marathon journey will take me next year! ✨ I have one race that I’m super excited for on the calendar (and will give me a new state!)... and I’m super excited to giveaway one entry tomorrow! ✨ In the meantime, tell me where you’ll be racing in 2019!   • “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” __________ Holy moly I’m FINALLY getting home after a long day. Of course the one morning I decided to push my run to the afternoon trouble finds me😑. Got to my car this afternoon to leave work just to find my car keys sitting in my front seat. I swear I lock my keys in my car more than anyone I know. 😑 Thankfully my husband has triple A...but unfortunately he works about thirty minutes from my school and was in a meeting till 4. Figured I would kill time by getting my run in but nope my sneakers were locked in the car as well. Husband arrives but of course the triple A guy got stuck in traffic and didn’t get there till around 5:30. Finally got to the gym about 6:30 to get my workout run in. All I wanted to do was go home and relax. It took everything in me to go get this run in I wanted to drive right past the gym but NO I got my booty inside and knocked out my run. Was it fun no not really but I got it done. Hit my paces and happy I got it done. Hamstring and hip are sore from yesterdays dry needling but pushed past the discomfort and looking forward to easy miles in the morning.

It was difficult to start but once I got thru my warmup I was 👌🏻. Slowly but surely I will be back running more🤞🏻. I definitely have seasons where I love running and some not so much. But sometimes you need to get real with yourself, rip the bandaid off and STOP 🛑 ✋🏻the excuses! . Hope you’re all having a great weekend! And to my friends who ran #cim I hope you all had a happy day of running! Can’t wait to see all your posts on how you did☺️
