When Taylor and I got married we wanted to get a new mattress that was ours. We searched all around and found @brentwoodhome, so we decided to try out the Crystal Cove mattress and pillows. Let me tell you, since we got this mattress about 2 months ago I’ve been sleeping like a log other than the fact that I’ve always gotta pee as soon as I fall asleep. Anywho, if you’re looking for a good mattress, check out Brentwood!

Well... that was a bigger break than expected. I logged out of my account for, what I expected to be, one week. Over a month later and I’m finally back! Have you ever taken a social media break? How did you find it? I didn’t give a shit about quitting Facebook to be honest, but I did end up missing the community on Instagram ❤️ so I’m glad I’m back.
I will fill you all in at some point with what I’ve been doing, but for now, let’s enjoy a good book, a warm drink and all those cosy festive things we all love doing. ❄️

“Without (Holy Spirit), people operate in their own strength and only accomplish human-size results. The world Is not moved by love or actions that are of human creation. And the church is not empowered to live differently from any other gathering of people without the Holy Spirit. But when believers live in the power of the Spirit, the evidence on their lives is supernatural. The church cannot help but be different, and the world cannot help but notice.” – Francis Chan, Forgotten God
What questions burn in your heart about Holy Spirit? Where do you believe He is active?

...this is always true. it was true when He said it to Peter then, as it is true and breathing here + now. to you, me, all of us.
that yes - when you are crack in the middle of things, you never quite see how He’s moving. you never understand what He’s doing. all you can see is all you cannot see. but just when you choose to raise your head above the mess, just when you let Him lift your head, the eyes of your heart begin to open up and you inhale this - slow: because you trust Him you don’t need to understand.
because we believe that He works ALL things together we can just. rest and trust. for we have seen, because of all that we hold in our hands here + now - we know that He withholds no good thing from us (Psalm 84:11). and most of all, He never withholds Himself. He just keeps coming.
A part of me would love to believe that I’m beyond the realm of jealousy - that I don’t think of myself in terms of others and what they have versus what I do not. But the reality is that I do often find my brain subconsciously sizing others up and ticking off all the ways in which I think them superior to me by the world’s standards. I occasionally find myself hiding away so others do not have the opportunity to do a side-to-side comparison and figure out what I already have: that I don’t measure up.
But this morning the Holy Spirit reminded me of the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians: “Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant! We will not boast about things done outside our area of authority. We will boast only about what has happened within the boundaries of the work God has given us, which includes our working with you.”
2 Corinthians 10:12-13 NLT
Paul is reminding us to ‘Slay in our lane’ (youth pastor terminologies 😂). He’s reminding us that comparison serves us no good if God has actually called each of us to something different and unique that is within our realm of capability and His realm of blessing. And the more we focus on what it is God has called us to instead of trying to live up to this arbitrary standard the world has set, the more we will find success and gratification in the work set before us.
Flowers don’t compare themselves. They just bloom wherever they’re planted. There’s no reason why we can’t do the same.
