Had so much fun yesterday!! But.. It saddens me that the OCR Auto X club currently has a dark cloud over it. I choose to use up an entire day to race only 12 laps that are roughly a minute long. That's it, only 12 minutes from an entire day, but that's not why I come out. I come out because of the people. These people are my friends, competitors, and most importantly the volunteers. I wouldn't have a place to test myself and the limitations of my car without these people.
I want to thank all the volunteers but most importantly, David Bloom, Kurt Ressler, Eric Budai, and Bruce Powers for for making such an awesome autox program for me #porsche#aircooled#luftgekühlt#porsche911#porsche912#wolfpack901#keyontheleft#vintage#momentsofracing#porsche70years#pca#pcaocr#porschemoment#autox#autocross#hankook#ventus#z214#getoutandrace
This Porsche 356 was on Porsche’s own stand at Technoclassica earlier this year. And it’s not a regular (if there is such a thing) 356: it’s an SL. For “Super Leicht”. Super Light. It had less weight mainly due to the aluminium body and it was more aerodynamic due to a more narrow “glass house”/roof section. It was successful as it won it’s class in the 1951 Le Mans 24 (first time a Porsche tried!) but that wasn’t this particular one (I already showed that one from my trip to California). This one is the 1954 winner of the Liege-Rome-Liege race, at least I think it is. It was driven by Germans Helmut Polensky and Herbert Linge. The number 6 that year is interesting as well: Jean Rédélé in a Renault 4CV...
