  • DAY 76: Today was my long run day but even with all of my great intentions, I just couldn't get myself up and out the door today. My motivation is high and I had a solid 9 hr sleep but my body is still struggling with energy levels and sickness in the stomach. I popped out for a quick walk and when I got back at lunch, I was falling asleep at the table and all I wanted to do was sleep (so I napped 😂). It's frustrating to say the least but I'm focussing on fuelling up my body with good food to get myself back on track this week. Perhaps it's a combination of hitting a wall with not fuelling to enough to conteract the increase in training and also the countdown to Christmas break. You know, that thing that happens when you know you're going to have time off and it's as though every possible illness decides to come for a visit lol. I've learnt over the years to listen to my body. If it's tired, rest it.   • DAY 76: Today was my long run day but even with all of my great intentions, I just couldn't get myself up and out the door today. My motivation is high and I had a solid 9 hr sleep but my body is still struggling with energy levels and sickness in the stomach.   • Have a tennis ball? Try these simple trigger point releases. “Trigger points” refer to points of increased tension within the muscles themselves, and may ‘refer’ to typically local/surrounding areas of the body. Here are some broad and common “trigger points” for most people - try give them a go when you do your stretching and/or gentle massage of surrounding muscles. They should feel tender when you find a spot, so just use a gentle amount of pressure to start off with. Try and work the ball around that spot for a few minutes. 🎾🎾🎾Yay ! 😅👍🏽✨ . 1. Traps/rhomboid muscles - gently place tennis ball between the middle border of shoulder blade and your spine. Try to relax back onto the tennis ball, and you can slowly circle your arm around until you find a tender spot. . 🎾 2. QL” muscle - a fairly big muscle in our lower back, so try to sink fairly deep in with the tennis ball. 🎾 3. Glutes/ hip rotators - roll the tennis ball globally around the Glute region - and try to stop and hold/sink in with tender points. (As shown in vid) can put the muscles on stretch to add to this. 🎾 4. “TFL” - this muscle to the side/front of our hip is easy to find between the boney part of your hip and the upper boney part of your pelvis. Try sink into this squishy part of the muscle lying on your side. (roll your pelvis back/forward until you find a tender spot) 🎾 5. Calf muscles - start at the top part of the muscle (below your knee) work your way down the middle and outer side of your calf - until you reach the lower end of your muscles. Use your weight to sit back into it - based on the intensity you are after.. 🎾 6. Foot muscles/ plantar fascia - roll the ball gently through the middle arch of your foot.   • Нахожусь я сейчас в состоянии максимального напряжения. В субботу экзамен, на сдачу, которого у меня 5 лет по визе, но тратить столько времени-это не мой метод. Выйдя из школы, мне вдруг подумалось, что в субботу-все! Я шла по улице, в лицо светило яркое солнце и ощутила такую пустоту и пропасть внутри, которую ощущаешь после достижения каждой цели. • У меня было уже такое, есть опыт. Например, выбежал марафон из заветных 3х часов. Но это касается не только спорта, а любого дела. Сначала ты думаешь, как бы это поскорее закончилось, уже нет сил идти, куда наметился и ничего кажется не выйдет, скорее бы заветная дата и конец. Но нет, этот конец-он всему конец. Самое прекрасное это как раз период создания своего успеха и путь к нему. Конечно, у меня еще миллион новых задач и целей. Без них не жизнь. Бывает, что жизнь в генераторе идей затихает для перезарядки. И кажется все эти новые идеи и цели, нужны, чтобы заглушить эту пустоту и пропасть, после достижения. А иногда можно и бросить все, когда до успеха рукой подать, оставить кому-то, подарить, только чтобы опять это не почувствовать. • Мне интересно, это от типа личности зависит? • Вчера наткнулась на тест по соционике, как же он оказался во многом прав (что я могла бы объективно оценить). Он может даже помочь определиться с поиском работы или места человека в жизни или обьяснить себе самому некоторые моменты. Классная наука. Мне было сказано, что борцы (это мой тип) отчаянно независимы (боль моя), и больше стабильности ценят только креативность и свободу. Вот как с этой фигней жить? Когда тебе тошно от стабильности? • Расскажите у вас тоже упадок сил после достижений и они даже не радуют? Я прочитала есть институт соционики или что-то такое и можно полное исследование пройти, которое чуть ли не неделю длится (не надо к гадалкам, хиромантам и всяким, кто там гороскопы составляет ходить). У кого есть опыт?   • Sometimes you’ve just got to get out and be a hot, sweaty beast! Long day on the tennis court yesterday but the result was a big win. 😊👍 Always have to push myself the day after pennants. Up early to beat the heat for a short sprint/fast walk. My version of hiit (probably more l/miit!) The days of endless cardio are long gone, thank goodness. I’m completely converted to weight resistance training. BUT I still like getting outside for some exercise just for the benefits of getting the fresh air, nature & some vit d. I’m just more efficient with cardio now. Is it harder to maintain my health & physique at 60 than when I was younger? Honestly, no. I spend way less time exercising, eat a healthy balanced diet & drink a lot of water. That doesn’t mean I can’t indulge myself. I can, but in moderation. Life is about balance.   • A few years ago I wanted to be ‘healthy’ which meant skinny AF and starving myself on probably 1000 calories and an hr of cardio per day . Then I wanted to be ‘healthy’ and pursue a career based on that and hit my fitness journey so I lifted too much and ate halfway to good health . Then ‘healthy’ to me was a starved fitness competitor, yeah really healthy that was... take a girl already insecure about the way she looks and then add a Fitness Comp 🤦‍♀️ major fail on my part. . Then I spent 2years trying to get back and maintain that health, I would honestly say that I wasn’t unhealthy last year and I did everything right but I just couldn’t get lean enough to hit the stage. I tried but I was probably still leaner than some who did hit the stage but I didn’t want to be someone who got up without giving my all 🤷‍♀️ . Then I went to ‘healthy’ eating the same bland food everyday and not dropping any weight for a long long time but seriously unhappy with how hard I worked for little result . Now I’m sitting at what I define as ‘healthy’, sure I have up and down days but I’m a girl and let’s face it, we are hard on ourselves! 🤷‍♀️ my mindset is better, I have focus, I definitely work too much and probably need to tell my partner I love him more instead of telling my food but I don’t look in the mirror anymore and hate what I see? . Sitting at a computer, having a desk job, being in the car for long hours and even bending over your mobile phone🤳🏻 (guilty!) can all contribute to neck and back pain. 😫 . ✨MINIMISE NECK AND BACK TIGHTNESS BY- . 💆🏼‍♀️Stretching! Cat stretches, neck stretch, side stretch and book openings are all great to get the back and neck moving. . 💆🏼‍♀️Do some Diamond Press (pictured above)- Lie on your stomach and make a diamond shape with your hands. Inhale to do a small shoulder shrug, exhale and press down through your hands to gently lift the chest and head. Aim to keep the neck long and the shoulder relaxed. . 💆🏼‍♀️Release with a massage ball or foam roller. Lie on a foam roller and let the arm relax to the side and breath for 30secs-1min. If you have a massage ball either lie down or stand against a wall. Place the ball between you and the surface and gently massage the tight areas. . 💆🏼‍♀️Think of your posture throughout the day. Reset the shoulders every hour by doing a few gentle shoulder rolls back when you’re sitting at the computer. .
