  • Any podcast listeners out there?! 🤔 . Tonight's run was all about just getting the miles in (and avoiding the cold ❄️😂) so a treadmill run it was!! . I have got a bit of a love hate relationship with the treadmill! Sometimes I love getting on one and getting the miles done, but other times I just find running on a treadmill so boring!! To try and prevent any boredom tonight I thought I would give listening to a podcast a go as I've seen and heard a lot of people recommending them! . I went for @marathontalk tonight and I enjoyed it but has anyone got any other brill podcast recommendations? I really want to give it a go throughout marathon training, anything to make the miles tick by a little bit faster 😂 . #runningpodcast #treadmillrun #marathontraining #manchestermarathon #lovetorun #winterrunning #fridayfeels

  • Representing RLR Tribe at our school Christmas 5k today!! It truly was a wonderful run!! 🎄 Kevin @kevinbrown.rlr won first place overall in 16:22 🤯, our 9 year-old ran her PR of 37:49 and got second place in the under-10 division, our 6 year-old ran her mile PR in 12:21, and for the first time I got first in my age group with a 24:39! Brown family representing! Oh, and it was 80 degrees with lots of humidity. 🤪 #floridarunners 🎄 I love seeing the look of pride on my kids faces when they do these amazing things, and I love what running has already started to teach them...That hard work and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is a good thing. That surrounding yourself with individuals who inspire and uplift you is possible and necessary for a fulfilling life. That they can inspire others just by doing what they do, especially when it’s done with a smile on their faces. That they can overcome any obstacle if they just put the effort in. 💗 🎄 This is my favorite race of the year. As an alum of this high school, the current cross country coach, and a member of this wonderful running group, I felt completely surrounded by my people and so much love and support. It was so great to spend an awesome morning with family and friends and to see our current and alum runners and families.

  • Hill repeats are back in the game. It was nice to rock some shorts in the 45° weather and knock off some of the rust. Today’s run was an easy 45 minutes followed by 10 hill repeats of 15 seconds with a 45 second walk rest. That walking played a trick on my overall average pace, but who really cares? Also, and I didn’t realize this until after my run, but this is the longest I’ve run since October 24. • Have a great weekend everybody. I know we are we gonna be going nuts with Christmas stuff and I’m sure many of you will be too. Good luck! •

  • In one of the most iconic race finishes that I can remember, Hayley Sutter (@ms.hayleysutter) crawled across the finish line to finish with a chip time of 2:45:00 at the California International Marathon - a potential Olympic Trials qualifying time. The strength, toughness, and composure she showed was awe inspiring and emotional to witness. In this episode, we dive into the race, the running background that prepared her for this achievement, and the “relentlessly positive” mindset that she has cultivated. • 🎧 The podcast is available on all podcasts apps, including Spotify, and there is a link to the show in my bio 🎧 • This episode is sponsored by @mckirdytrained. • I’ll Have Another Podcast episode 158: @runcamille Camille Herron just broke some serious World Records at Desert Solstice. She broke both the 100 mile World Record on a track, in the middle of breaking the 24 hour World Record on the track – running 162 miles in 24 hours. That’s an average of 8:50 pace. Camille was a long time marathoner – she was known for running marathons back to back and qualifying for the Olympic Trials several times in a year – one year in fact she qualified 7 times in one year. With a marathon PR of 2:37 – she is really speedy, however she has found her niche with this Ultra running thing. She is the 2017 @comradesmarathon champion – and has her sights set on going back in 2019 to take that title again. Camille is also the World Record Holder in 100 miles over all terrain, as well as the 12 hour world record holder on the track and the 100K World Champion, where her team took gold as well. In this episode we talk about her transition to ultra running, the kind of training she does and how she has such a tough mind when things get hard. You can find this episode in any podcast app or link to listen in my profile. Big thanks to @lilytrotters for supporting this episode of the podcast! Try them out and use code "another" for 25% off your order. Also- Camille was wearing a @corosglobal watch during her 24 hour run and still had 32% battery left at the end. Use code “another” for 10% off a Coros watch! #podcast #shepodcasts #womensrunning #ultrarunning #comradesmarathon #desertsolstice #podcastersofig

  • First workout in a long, long time. Here are the deets: . 3 x 2:00 at 7:15 (equal jog recovery). 3 x 1:30 at 7:15 (equal jog recovery). 3 x 1:00 at 6:50 (equal jog recovery). . I was a tad slow in most of my segments but in the general range. This isn’t nearly as long as my workouts in the past, which is good since I’m still at the beginning of a journey to peak fitness. I’m happy with how today went and looking forward to more days like this in the future. In the meantime, recovery will continue to be a mandate and not a suggestion. .

  • Surprise! Last night @roguechris interviewed my teammate @beingcate and me for an episode of the Running Rogue podcast! Cate and I have very different backgrounds in running, but the last few months of training have looked remarkably similar for us as Chris coached us at @roguerunning: same workouts, same strength training, same weekly mileage, and we both hit it home with big PRs on race day at CIM 😎😎 Our finish times were separated by a significant margin—Cate ran a smokin’ 2:43 (check out that Olympic qualifying time 🔥🔥) and I brought it in with my 4:27—but regardless of pace I think we recognize and respect the work it took each of us to get there. - The Running Rogue episode is already up on iTunes or via the link in my bio. • Crystal Harriss (@c_harriss) was running the race of her life, a stunning 25:40 PR, and was mere seconds from achieving a long held dream or crushing disappointment. She dug deep and crossed the line at the California International Marathon at 2:44:59 - securing a spot at the Olympic Trials by one second in one of the most dramatic finishes you will ever see. In this episode we discuss not only this amazing race but the dozen stress fractures/reactions that almost forced her to quit the sport two years ago at age 38. • 🎧 The podcast is available on all podcasts apps, including Spotify, and there is a link to the show in my bio 🎧 • This episode is sponsored by @mckirdytrained. • This was my first full week back and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I was filed by the amazing people I met at CIM and the excitement of getting after it, again. I ran 24.5 miles this week - all east except for a few striders. I’ll be staying at this mileage until I see my endocrinologist on January 30. Next week will include my first workout in LONG time. I’ll be doing one a week for a while. • Today’s run was 4.0 miles at 9:18 pace. • I’m rocking some new gear from @codrakinetics that I’m really happy with. Glowing arm band, running scarf, and belt (that fits my enormous iPhone 8+ and doesn’t bounce). I got their standard running box this week (only $25) and was blown away. •

  • I was THIS CLOSE to going back to my warm bed. I was looking back and forth between my clothes and my weather app and thought, “I can just do it later.” The siren song of procrastination can be so alluring. Today, I stayed strong and made it outside. That’s usually the hardest step. Today’s run was an enjoyable one and I’m glad I didn’t miss it. Shout-out to @brooksrunning for the mask and Ricochets. Both performed perfectly today! . #runhappy

  • My very first podcast! #Repost @lindseyhein626 ・・・ CIM Champion @emmajanelbates joins me today on the show! She debuted the marathon in 2:28 to take the win in California on Sunday. If you hadn't hear of Emma before Sunday- you have now and you better put her on your radar for female runners doing big things! Emma ran for @boisestateuniversity tateuniversity and is a 12-Time All American, she went on to run for the BAA after graduating but for now, Emma is currently not a sponsored athlete and actually works as a nanny part time on top of running 100+ mile weeks. Just last year in fact she was working at both Whole Foods and as a Nanny while she trained and ran a half marathon PR of 71 minutes. You may have noticed her jersey said she was running for Camp Fire Relief- and you'll learn all about that in this episode. Emma lives in Idaho with her fiance who is also her coach and trains with him (he's a sub 4 minute miler!) and she occasionally trains with a few other athletes he coaches as well. They are passionate about growing the running community in Idaho and have proven they have a smart method for training. Emma is excited to run in the 2020 trials and it's clear she will use her platform to make waves for something more meaningful than just running itself. Enjoy my conversation with Emma! • Some say... shoes don't matter. Maybe they don't. After all, I have seen people running marathons barefoot. . They also have legs of steel and obviously have a rigorous workout program to build those solid muscles. . Nevermind the calluses on their feet... I won't go there! 😯😱 . For the rest of us mortals.... The right shoes can mean the difference between loving or hating to run.... Not to mention preventing injuries. . Which are you? Minimal profile to barefoot ... Or bring on the cushion! :) . After experiencing an Achilles tendon injury right off the bat when I started running, I don't play around with my shoes. .
