Bought a bag of these add-on ice spikes/studs ("Best Grip": www.best-grip.se, available on apotea.se). Using these, I don't need to bother finding a pair of winter running shoes (it's difficult enough to find a pair you like without spikes - and still, there's a lot more of those). How the mounting went? Well, it was quite easy but since you want to place the spikes on spots as close to ground as possible, I would recommend you to pick a pair with wide and robust pattern. Pattern on mine where a little bit to narrow and they tend to brake easily. Still I managed. Price is ~300 SEK. ATTENTION ALL RUNNERS:
New study found that running in highly cushioned shoes increases leg stiffness and amplifies impact loading. Thus, minimalist shoes will lead to less impact loading and less injuries!
This can be explained by the following: less cushioning >> more proprioceptors in your foot/ankle/knee/hip will perceive the impact with each stride >> your body will (subconsciously) react by decreasing the amount of force that you land with by engaging more muscles, incorporating more of a forefoot/midfoot vs heel strike stride, deceasing the “bounce” in your stride and/or increasing the cadence of your stride.
