Sometimes I have these days where I feel worthless and just like shit 🌿. Today kinda went in that direction. I know a run can make all the difference. So after work I got into my running gear immediately 🌺. It worked! Because everything is fine again 💓.
🏃🏽♀️ 13.7KM • 1:19:00 • 5:46/km
🇳🇱 Beetje stuntelige dag vandaag. Pretty good for a Monday 🥭.
M’n maandag dus goed afgesloten. Fijne avond allemaal 🥰.
Three day streak completed! 🏃🏼♂️👍
I finished the third run this week with an 8km easy run. That’s 28k so far with a 26k run planned for Sunday. After running 12k home last night this morning was a bit of a struggle but I got through it! I’m going to do a marathon food rehearsal this weekend too and was wondering what people do for breakfast on the big day? I usually have a bagel and a nature valley oat bar about 2.5 hours before. Thanks! .
On another note I think the race predictor on my Garmin is slightly off! Sub 3 hour marathon.... I wish! 🤥👍🏃🏼♂️
Sometimes throwing out a plan and going with the flow is the best thing. I had 120 min run on the books today which I was able to get in at the Thrill in the Hills 50k/20k. I was introduced to two really great dudes and ended up being their 3rd leg in the 50k relay. I contributed 5 miles and together we snagged 1st place for 3 person relays (of two teams😂)! We were just having fun. I ran 70 minutes to warm up and then hit the 5 miles in 37?38? minutes. Im actually not sure. GPS didn’t work out there in the trails. @dirtyspokes11 puts on elite events! First class for sure... I don’t know that anyone does it better! It was good to get muddy on the trails. I even turned my fave but worn out trainers into trail shoes using @goatheadgear sole spikes!!! I’ve had these things forever and decided to give it a go. HOLY COW!! I am bummed I haven’t used them sooner. It made areas that would have been an impassable slippery slop fest into easily traversed terrain. The mud on the steep areas was still bad and I slid some but the shoes still gripped enough that I didn’t lose too much pace or my footing entirely. I wasn’t racing today, just trying to have fun and help the team. I still have a double ear infection and a sinus infection and my head is POUNDING but I couldn’t miss this race. I loved seeing all the familiar faces and cheering people on. Seeing the start of all the races and not feeling pressure to perform was what I needed, even feeling like garbage. I love this community of runners and everything folks have to give. Seeing people run their first ultra brings me such joy. People cheering each other on and being supportive no matter what. Trail runners are special. Congrats to @ashruns100s on her badass 3rd place finish on a sloppy and fun trail system. It was a good day.
SL du jour : - 40mn EF - 30mn AS21+30"
- 20mn AS21+10"
- 10mn AS10 - 10mn RAC
I only ran today because of my 7 year old son. I’ve been struggling with my mood - the cold/ice/snow/grey skies are killing me, y’all. At 6:30am my son woke up and I laid with him and said I needed to get ready for my running group soon, “but I don’t want to go.” He asked why and I told him because it’s so cold (20 degrees. And icy. And windy). He said, “well isn’t it a practice? You need to practice for running your 13 miles so you should go!” 1st of all, this smart kiddo remembered how long a half marathon is (he missed the .1 but we’ll give it to him 😂). 2nd, he’s encouraging me to get out there... and 3rd, what kind of example would I be setting if I crawled back into bed rather than showing him about persistence in working toward your goals? SO- thanks to him, I got out there and ran for the first time in 6 days. It felt awesome once we finished, and I wanted to bottle that feeling to carry around with me until spring.🤗 I’m really trying, my depression just gets so unmanageable in the late winter. 😬 Taking it 1 day at a time though & today is a good day because I started it with that run. 🤗 #mentalhealthwarrior#runnerscommunity#stillirun#runningmotivation#motherrunner#overcomingdepression#runnersofinstagram#runnersofig#runningtherapy#runhappy#mindbodysoul#run#pushyourself#youcandoit#womenrunning#runninginspiration#endstigma

⭐️We can’t predict the future⭐️ As I was running this morning through very misty terrains it dawned on me that when you can’t see where you’re going, or indeed the end of the road ahead of you, it can feel a little scary and unnerving.
So although I couldn’t see clearly, then I knew there was a path and I knew where the path led to.
Although we can’t predict the future, we can certainly try to create the path we want to travel. If there isn’t a clear path we can create one.
So go forward confidently and believe in yourself and the road you choose to travel. The power lies within you to create the life you want to live. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Happy running ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #running#runningislife#motivation#createyourlife#believe#believeinyourself#createyourpath#mindfulness#mindfulrunning#runningtherapy#onestepatatime
I haven’t ran since Wednesday.
This cold, flu, whatever-the-hell needs to get up on out and vacate my body. If only it was that easy to just tell your sickness that it’s over stayed it’s welcome.
Ugh, I can’t tell you how much I WANT to run. My body has much different plans... These plans consist of manufacturing gallons of snot, couching like a banshee and feeling like a garbage truck ran you over.
Those are not recommended running conditions.
So, I’ll sit here with my puppies. Nap as much as possible. Fluids, fluids, fluids. And dream of sunny running days. ☀️

First official half marathon of 2019 tomorrow! ✅😀
My playlist and kit is all ready to go and I will be treating tomorrow as a dress rehearsal for the big day. I remember enjoying the Hampton Court Half two years ago so very much looking forward to it. A little bit older and debatably slightly wiser, hopefully I can improve on my previous time running it!! 🏆Weathers looking great so it’s set to be a fun morning. 🏃🏼♂️
Good luck to everyone running it and looking forward to seeing some people smash their personal records!

I'm feeling in a thoroughly good mindspace at the moment, my head is light and clear and my thoughts are focused, I feel like I'm currently on a good path! Maybe I just had to make it through those January blues?!...I started this week thinking it was going to be a bit of a struggle after having a short weekend and working a 12 hour nippy outdoors shift on Saturday. Instead, somehow I've managed to fly through the week running a 5k hills,15k outdoors and doing my first spin session in about five years 😅... I have absolutely no idea where this energy and buzz has come from but I'm so glad it has! It's making a nice change and I feel a glow of positivity around me going into the weekend... Let's hope it continues. Happy Saturday lovely people, keep positive, keep doing you ✌️
