  • Scrolling back through Instagram to try and pick my best nine of 2018 reminded me of how many great moments I’ve had throughout the year 😀 and it was impossible to narrow it down to just nine 😅 so here’s the first part of my 2018 recap ... Well 2018 what a year you have been! Full of ups and downs and everything in between ☺️ .... where to begin, January kicked off with some solid marathon training and the fear of attempting my first ultra later in the year had started to kick in 🤣 February saw me complete the @endurancelife marathon, which I loved so much I’ll be back to take on the ultra in 2019 👍🏻 February also brought the Beast from the East which meant several races were cancelled but I still got out there and some who managed to stay on my feet despite running through snow ice and gale force winds. I actually came to quite enjoy running in the snow ❄️ March came and my marathon training was going really well, until the 27th that was and the delightful knee injury occurred 🙈 this is was definitely the low point of 2018, my 365 challenge was over and Brighton marathon was an absolute no go, which meant goodbye to my last chance of getting a GFA spot in the 2019 VLM 😢 but my family friends and you lovey insta lot kept my challenge going. I still can’t get over how many of you helped my out and donated, I will be forever grateful 🥰 anyway after 18 days off and moving into April I made my running comeback. I managed to hobble a 5k along the finish of Brighton marathon. It was bitter sweet as I was so happy to be back running but absolutely gutted I wasn’t doing the marathon. But within a few weeks I ran the Sunderland 1/2 and was delighted to see I hadn’t lost too much fitness. May came and with a lot of hard work I was somehow able to rehab myself to the point of being able to take on my first ultra marathon, 100k from London to Brighton. What a bloody day that was. I still can’t believe I managed it! I had my cheer squad there to keep me going and my mam who is the best support team you’ll ever need on a run, I knew she’d never let me quit 😂 finally we’ve made it to half way through the year. Which meant it was time for my first Blaydon races 😄
