  • Body image is something that at lot of people suffer from. However, once you understand how to love your flaws, faults and damage, you find self acceptance. I know a lot of people who have suffered from bad-body image (some still do), including myself. It can be hard to feel happy when school and holidays are very stressful. However, if you are feeling that way, please talk about it! You will feel 1000% better. Stay strong friends xx 💋

  • I’m not going to lie and say that I am anywhere near confident and accepting of this photo. I’m not. I nowhere near being in love with my body, but I’m ready to put in the work. Posting this feels like ripping off that bandaid. . . “Here world! Just look and see all the parts that I am terrified to show.” . . I’ve spent nearly 35 years wishing to be different in some way. In middle school I wished to be less skinny and boney. In high school I wished to be less tall. In college I wished to be less soft. During pregnancy I wished to be less big. . . It’s time to change this relationship. . . Step 1. I’m going to stop wishing for my body to be less than anything it already is. . . I’m 6ft tall and 180lbs. I have gained, and lost, 120 lbs over the last 7 years. I have given birth to 28 lbs of human. I ran a half marathon. I’ve played 4 years of varsity basketball. I’ve worked out. I am training to be a yoga teacher. . . This body has been good to me and it’s time I start returning the favor. 2019 is going to be all about treating myself right. Eliminating negative self-talk and embracing who I am in the present moment. . . I wanted to post this for any woman who has looked at herself—or looks at herself now—and is disappointed in what she sees. For any woman who feels unworthy because of something that society tells her is a flaw. For anyone feeling stuck. I am with you. I am hoping that this vulnerable moment will give you a bit of peace ❤️

  • One of the breakthrough moments I had in my ED recovery journey was realizing that it was about so much more then just the food I was or was not eating. . . The food is the tip of the iceberg, it’s what you see on the surface, but for many of us there is so much more beneath at play. . . Today on the Love Your Bod Pod #LYBP we have @torydoobs, transformational coach for women, whom like me, struggled with food and her body for over a decade. . . Through her recovery process, she was able to discover how food is just one piece of the overall puzzle to creating a kick ass life. And how it’s not as much about our body size as it is the quality of our life, and while extremely painful, there is so much we can learn about ourselves through our struggles with food. . . • “Sarah how do I get a six pack?” I’ve been asked this 100,000 billion times (nearly an accurate statement 😉) It’s important to create complete overall strength. Focusing solely on “getting a six pack” won’t get you one. Consistency and commitment to your diet and fitness routine will get you the physique you want. Just keep in mind that the body works in proportion. . . . . . #fitness #vegains #health #healthylifestyle #happy #selfimage #abs #body #mind #train

  • Over the past 8 months, I’ve been on a journey to become who God created me to be! Along the way, I’ve stumbled and cried. However, I’ve picked myself back up through strength that comes from believing in the power of everything has purpose! As I’m sitting at my office of the day, I’m reminded of why I’ve been given the gift of passion to help others. Through this journey, I’ve found that I’m not a nobody and I am ME! 1. I’m a beautiful human that loves with my entire heart and in the end - everyone serves as a reason, season or lifetime. 2. I’m an intelligent woman that has a passion to provide education on all things insurance and self image. 3. I’m a mother of an amazing young man that will go places beyond his wildest imagination! 4. I’m blessed to have met my soul mate his year, too. His courage and patience with me makes him a bad ass daily. Beyond all that I have posted, I’m more than I know, because every day I become 1% better. Thank you for being part of this journey - I also thank the humans that chose to not stay. All the humans deserve to be recognized for whatever role they have played in my life ❤️ As you finish reading this, post 👇🏼 who you are meant to be. #BecomingTL #MomLife #Journey #AlignedAF #SelfImage #Insurance #DontGiveUp

  • Before and immediately after. So thankful i wont have to be reminded of how sick i am every time i look in the mirror. I know its silly, but my brows have always made me self-conscious and getting them microbladed has definitely improved my self-image. They have always been thin but #lupus has caused them to thin out even more. This is my third time doing my brows in ~5 years and i have no regrets. #microblading #brows #selfimage #hairloss

  • “Your speed doesn’t matter, forward is forward.”🐢 Seriously was focusing on not eat shit running up these stairs. I’d like to say I didn’t fall but me and stairs are a dangerous game😂 I love this quote because I feel like it we live in a world when we want something we want it now. Hate to break it to ya but not everything can be obtained that quickly, especially when it comes to fitness. I’ve been working on my fitness lifestyle for almost 5 years now and I continue to fluctuate. I’m not at my leanest but I’m happy and try to live my life with balance. I’m the kind of person who has a hard time balancing things so I either put more effort into my career and a little less into my fitness or the other way around. Fitness isn’t what pays the bills so my career comes first. So finding a happy medium is what I strive to do. I set realistic and obtainable goals for myself. It’s easy to set outrageous goals and beat yourself up when you fail vs setting up realistic goals and giving yourself a pat on the back when you reach them! So at the end of the day as long as you’re moving forward you’re headed in the right direction not matter how fast you go!🤘🏻

  • Update ⚠️⚠️ Possible TW - The last 2 days have consisted on me freaking the hell out because I have my nutrician appointment on Monday and I hella know I haven't gained yet lost about 5 lbs since last month. I'm freaking out because I was told by my GP I would be admitted immediately if I didn't gain and now I honestly just want to shove the biggest amount on food possible to get my weight up, I really don't want to go inpatient bc that would mean spending Christmas and new years eve at the hospital which would break me and my family badly. - I have been really tired (hence no food pics) but I have been eating (with some purging but overall handling it). - This pic is from Saturday's graduation of my cousin, I rocked my pixie cut and my new dress even tho my anxiety was skyyyyrocketed and the food was terrible that day. - So yeah, maybe I'll update tomorrow regarding food because we will be having lunch out with my mama, but I'm alright just struggling a bit rn. - Keep fighting and stay strong everyone ❤️ - - #anorexianervosa #bulimiarecovery #anorexiafighter #edarmy #edrecovery #edawareness #edsoldiers #edfighter #fighting #anarecovery #selfimage #update #bulimia

  • I often have people ask me what “diet” I follow to stay relatively lean at 39. I eat intuitively & aim for 80-90% of my diet to come from nutrient dense food sources & 10-20% is whatever I might be craving. Because I eat mainly nutritious foods, I don’t think twice about the creamer I ENJOY daily in my coffee, or the pizza, or pastries I eat regularly. . What I have found to be most important with not only myself but also with my clients is learning proper portion sizes & focusing on a diet that is filled with mostly whole nutritious foods but fitting in tasty foods as well. When we allow ourselves to still have foods that we love, in moderation, we won’t feel deprived & this can make a huge difference in our mindset. . When most of my clients begin working with me, in order to master portion sizes, they learn to track calories/macros; with a goal of eventually having a more intuitive approach to nutrition. This seems to be a recipe for longterm success for many. I have also worked with people who use their hand as a portion size guideline (palm for protein, fist for veggies, cupped hand for carbs and thumb for fats) which can also be effective. Everyone is different & what’s important is finding a method & a way of eating that you are able to adhere to. . With nutrition, the ultimate goal should be sustainability. In order to avoid a perpetual cycle of yo-yo dieting, I personally don’t feel diets that are extremely rigid or restrictive are effective longterm for the vast majority of people. If you aren’t enjoying the food you are eating, or if you are cutting out entire food groups and craving them constantly, how long can one realistically continue to follow that diet? The key is to find what works best for YOU - something that will not just help you reach your goals but something that you can stick to indefinitely. . • It sure doesn't. I was unhappy with being underweight at 115lbs and I was unhappy at 155lbs, and guess what? I'm still unhappy with my current weight of 137lbs. The only way I'll ever be content with the way I look is by lots of intensive therapy and unlearning everything I've ever been conditioned to believe about my body, beauty standards and self-image. I'm working on it, but hoo boy it's difficult to reject the negative thought pattern that's been so ingrained in me for 30 years. #weightloss #bodyimage #selfimage #selfesteem #beautystandards

  • Social media VS reality Ever catch yourself scrolling through your social feeds and notice all these perfect ladies on there that have it all together? The ones that have the rock hard abs with all the cute clothes. Their house decor is on point. Hair and makeup always looking fresh....those girls. I do! 🙋🏼‍♀️ They seem to have it all together 😫 And sometimes I catch myself starting to feel bad that I’m not...🛑....and that’s where I stop myself and close the app. I remind myself in that moment that I am ME and that’s amazing!! I am blessed with a body that gives me the ability to live a healthy life and do all the things I want to do! Not everyone has that. Everyday I get the opportunity to wake up and work on my goals. ☀️ I get the opportunity to be the best me I can be. Maybe along the way even inspire another human or two to do the same! Maybe you can draw inspiration from these perfectly manicured women on social media but I hope scrolling through your feed never makes you feel inadequate. 🙏🏻YOU ARE YOU & THATS AMAZING!!♥️ Xoxox • • • #GymLife #StrengthBuilding #GoalDigger #AspireToInspire #GrowthMindset #StayHumble #BeKind #VibeTribe #PositiveVibes #GoalSetting #MindOverMatter #MindsetFirst #Motivation #SelfImage

  • “Hi I’m Linda and yes I had the “London Look.” When I was little, the gap I had never bothered me. Nobody had “perfect teeth” in elementary school nor did anyone notice I had a big gap between my teeth. It wasn’t until middle school when I started to struggle with my gap. I didn’t like the way I looked when I smiled. All my friends had gotten braces and the people around me now all had “perfect teeth.” I begged my mom for braces because I was tired of all the comments like “When are you going to get your teeth fixed?” My mom never agreed to getting me braces because she liked the way my smile was and how it made me different and original from everyone else. I never grew enough confidence to really show off my gap. I didn’t even realize people talked behind my back about my gap until I was in high school and was told to “keep my legs closed unlike my teeth.” After that, I noticed more and more people would be saying things behind my back. Scrolling through social media and seeing comments about models with a gap in their teeth and how they could use a mattress to floss. It was hard seeing those comments and wondering if people said that about me when they first saw me and if I was just the girl with the gap in her teeth. My friends would make jokes about my gap that they thought were harmless and in the end those jokes would end up hurting a lot. In April of 2018, I got braces. It was a hard decision for my mom to allow me to get braces but she allowed it because she didn’t want all my wisdom teeth to be pulled out. After I got braces, knowing my gap was going to close gave me so much more confidence. I even was able to ask my boyfriend (who I had been already dating for a year) what he had thought about my gap, which I had never asked about before because I had been so self-conscious. It took me a while to realize that with or without braces I had people who loved me for who I was and that a gap shouldn’t be the reason why I’m afraid to smile. Yes I had a gap and eventually it will come back but it taught me to not hide behind a camera and to just smile big with my teeth showing proud. I had to do that for myself before I could do it for others.” (Linda - USA)

  • When I'm fired up doing my favorite things--going IN on creating my purpose work💃... Magically my sugar cravings vanish.✨ This holiday (plus snow days) though, I've been saying yes to all the yummy treats. And it's OH so comfortable-- just like the video I shot yesterday (on my YouTube) with some way too practical advice for sugar cravings😬 #confession When I finished I was like-- "ooh something was off". Something is still off and I'm definitely in the midst of a shift. Time for some free writing and journaling. The truth is... It's not always unicorns and rainbows especially when you're constantly evolving. It's ok to saying a higher yes to out growing your comfort zone over all the holiday yumminess. 'Tis also the season for change. #allow #HigherSelfLove

  • Marilyn Monroe, one of my idols; through her mental struggles became one of the most beautiful woman on Earth. Along with her issues she had a very chaotic life, trying to find herself in the world as well as people she loved, having her childhood being so lost. Most see her as a physical beauty. I find her a warrior in the ashes. An inspiration for woman who fight for meaning in this world, meaning within ourselves. We have so much opportunity now then Marilyn ever had to work through all the traumas.
