  • Tu fai sempre stretching? 😁

  • by @alexandra_j_davis_ My senior year of high school, I was preparing for the last race of my career, but I was injured, badly. I basically had a shin splint in my right shin x10, and nothing could make it go away, besides not running. It was horrific, but I was going to give it my all. Thirty minutes before the mile, the last race of my high school career, I planned on warming up one last time. I tried to ignore the thoughts of the night before, as I had gone to bed screaming in pain due to the spasms in the muscles around my shin. I began my trot in complete and utter fear with my father by my side. He was wearing his rugged blue jeans and a red Plainview track and field t-shirt. I lasted for three minutes; the pain overtook my body and I fell to the ground in screams and sobs. “It’s over daddy it’s over!” I screamed. I looked up at my father, he had fallen down to his knees with me and tears were falling down his freckled cheeks. “Alex, I am so proud of you, I love you.” He held me as I let out the ugliest sobs imaginable. I didn’t run the race that day. #bornquirky

  • ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ 🏃🏼‍♂️ 🏃🏼‍♂️ 😖⠀L O N G L O N G - R U N 😖 🏃🏼‍♂️ 🏃🏼‍♂️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✅ 37.2km long run (3:00 hours) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ | Today was meant to be the longest run of my training cycle, a 3 hour run. I didn’t sleep great, woke up tired, got changed and did warmups, went to grab my headphones and leave, only to realise I had put my headphones through the wash. So ruined headphones and no music on the run! I started running but couldn’t shake a tight left calf muscle, and also couldn’t stop thinking about work | ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ | Around 7km in I started eating a gel at the traffic lights, put my phone in my pocket, then took off. Threw my empty gel packet in the garbage then.....f**k! Where’s my phone?! Stopped tracking my run, retraced my steps twice, looked in the garbage....no phone! Call my partner from my watch to ‘find my iPhone’ and she tells me the phone’s moving in the opposite direction. She checks again, it’s another 1.5km down the road! I sprint to where the phone is and get a text from my partner “guy in a blue backpack with ginger hair is waiting with your phone.” I can see him! Fortunately he gives my phone straight back and I thank him | ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ | I call my partner to tell her that I got my phone back and I’m coming home. “Why don’t you just finish your run?” So I jog back to where I stopped tracking and continue my run, after running an extra 5km and an hour to find my phone | ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ | Feeling drained, I continued with renewed optimism. Another 8...9...10km went by slowly and I was still struggling, counting the k’s one at a time. I made it to 20km and did a mental check - I don’t feel like sh*t anymore! My legs felt good and I was enjoying the scenery. Surprisingly this continued for another 17km until I tick over 3 hours....done! | ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ | After over 4 hours and 42km (tracked 3 hours and 37km), I’m welcomed home by 👩 🐶 🐶 waiting for me. Starting out as a bad run where nothing could go right, by the end I felt refreshed and relaxed. It’s amazing what running 37km and being welcomed home by your family can do |

  • Finally found a reason to go up to Smith Rock. The reason's name was Mat. He hitchhiked to the parking lot of the climbing gym and was trying to get to Smith Rock. I was glad to have run into someone willing to try to get on some routes even though the past, present, and future forecast was snow. Once we got to the area we wanted to climb we realized snow was only half the reason no one else climbs in February. Most of the routes are closed for Golden Eagle nesting. Back to the gym...

  • My last few runs starting from most recent. My runs have definitely been getting faster and faster and I'm pretty happy. My foot was feeling funky, but just recently I've adopted the "fuck it" idea, but don't kill yourself idea. I've been trying to train hard to finally be back on track. Once next summer comes, my progression will be explosive. Next summer is for me to rebuild the base I would've had now, and with that I will start progressing quick. I'll go to nationals Jr and Senior year, if not just Senior year. All in all I just wanna be there. My run today was kinda hard, I could keep up this pace, but I went too fast to start. That wouldn't have been a problem had I actually ate something in the morning. Making me feel weak, having stomach pain and feeling like throwing up. But hey, at least my foot doesn't hurt. I'm going to keep on working hard to achieve my dream and keep moving forward. If anyone can help me with track questions message me. I need all the help I could get and all is appreciated. THIRD TIME MAKING THIS POST, since I posted the wrong pics. #run #runner #running #envywear #fit #runtoinspire #furtherfasterstronger #seenonmyrun #trailrunning #trailrunner #runchat #runhappy #instagood #time2run #instafit #happyrunner #marathon #runners #photooftheday #trailrun #fitness #workout #cardio #training #instarunner #instarun #workouttime

I’m so easy to please, I love parking up somewhere with a view and hanging out on the tailgate. After a weekend a way watching @brendan_summerlandhealth do the @tweed_enduro_tri I’m keen to get home and do a solid few days of training before we set off on our honeymoon 🥂

  • A year ago, I was medically pulled from Black Canyon 60k. It was a necessary (and scary) decision, and I wasn’t fully medically cleared to race until a week before Quicksilver 100k (my first WS qualifier). Set backs don’t define us. They give us a chance to regroup, work smarter, and harness an inner strength we may not have known we even had.

  • I miss racing. I haven't been able to train much since the beginning of the year. I've only been able to go to CrossFit once a week or every other week, and go on trail runs on the weekends...or some weekends not at all. It's driving me bonkers. . My career has me working 12-13 hour days with a schedule that moves around week to week making it really hard to plan ahead and have a life outside of work. It is what it is, but at the same time...I sometimes question why I even do what I do anymore when a lot of people are watching tv and movies on devices with shitty speakers (laptops, iPads, Beats by Dre headphones/earbuds, etc...) 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ . Anyways, I will return to form at some point. Hopefully, around late Spring/early Summer. One thing's for sure, no one's gonna stop me from shredding Dodger Stadium again in August!!! I have something ridiculous planned for it, which hopefully @sac_af68 and @rynesworld will join in on. 🏋🏾‍♂️🏃🏾‍♂️
