Haven’t a clue who I’m talking to or why I’m smiling like that. But I can guess it was probably because it was all over and I felt obliged to tell everyone!
Carrying on my #RU2C tonight and still hoping to hit 150/200km. Currently at 108 before tonight’s run.
How’s everyone else getting on?
It may have only been 2-3degrees C 🥶
But the surf reports were good and I had the day off... 🏄🏻♂️🤗
Fully prepped & organised the night before, ready for an early start this morning 🌅🚗💨
A couple of hours surfing followed by a loooong walk on my favourite beach 🚶🏻♂️🏖 .
It’s up to you what you do in your downtime, but whatever it is, make sure it works for YOU ☝🏼😃
No excuses 🚫

Well that run nearly didn’t happen. After an exhausting week on-call for emergency surgery I feel run down and dehydrated. Finally managed to rid myself of a horrible headache by drinking 2.5 litres of water and decided to give it a go.
This was supposed to be 5 miles at MP. The first mile and a half was HORRIBLE! It felt really hard. Then my husband rang so I stopped for a quick chat and when I re-started my pace settled and it started to feel much easier. Not sure 9 minute miles are going to actually be feasible for 26.2 but then sub-4 was never going to be an easy goal for me.
Felt good after yesterday but am really trying to get at least 4 running sessions in a week. Hoping to include strength session (hills), speed session, a long run followed by a recovery run which was today. Trying to get my legs used to running after fatigue and just training pure endurance on these days. -
Listened to Joe Rogans podcast with Elon Musk while I was running, unreal if you want to hear about tech and the future.

Make sure you check your emails at 12noon tomorrow... We have had a huge amount of interest ahead of the launch and only a limited amount of places for our launch offer! We sold out of Malawi launch places in 3 hours...will there be a repeat?
Been dreading this session all week, ever since I moved it from Tuesday. 60 minutes easy (cool I can do that) then mile repeats at Aerobic, Marathon, Half Marathon, and Tempo paces. Uhhhhh maybe I can do that still? It ended up feeling great and I worried for nothing. I taught an adult ballet class this afternoon and I told them to try and stop saying negative things to themselves. I can see it on their faces, an internal monologue of ‘I’m shit I can’t do this.’ When I was getting ready for my run I realise I say those kind of things to myself a lot. ‘You’re old and slow. You’ll never do it. Quit now.’ Fact is I’ve had a great year and I’ve got a great coach. She doesn’t give me workouts I can’t execute so I don’t know why I don’t trust her. Or myself for that matter. Anyway, I mostly smashed it and I’m learning to trust this process and be kind to myself. 12 miles BOOM 💥 Also, my right knee looks like Tigger here and don’t be jelly of the 70’s doors and 3D wallpaper in our new house. Retro is back. #runuptochristmas#ru2c#theoutdoorsawaits#forthemavericks#mavericktraildivision#keepittight#procompression#californiabornandraised#californiagirl

Running hat off to all the double run day runners out there - that is not for me!
I had to run home after dropping my car off at the garage this morning (my least favourite adult job) and then run back to the garage this afternoon 🚘
I love getting home from a run to a super hot shower, a cuppa and the comfiest clothes I can find so putting my running clothes back on after is not the best 👎
Although...hot shower, cuppa and comfy clothes x 2 isn’t so bad 😉

A shot from last Sunday’s Telford 10k and the point at which the peripheral senses were beginning to go and the tunnel vision was creeping in!! Man it hurt. I couldn’t tell you who was around me - it was proper own-world suffering! As you know, I didn’t suffer hard enough and missed my sub 31 target by 7 seconds!
Today the running training (photo 2) for the next challenge - @powermanspain in Feb - got underway..... My coach has started building my bike mileage but today was the first proper long run session - 19 miles with 15 miles steady in the middle (sub 6min/mile). I thought this was going to really hurt but it was surprisingly ok - even on the soft grass - and I clocked 1.27.02 (5.48 min/mile) for the middle 15 miles. My heart rate average was pretty good for the effort (for me) so it’s a good confidence booster. Quads might not thank me tomorrow though!!
Have a brilliant weekend everyone! I’m looking forward to reading all about your races/training as ever!!
Today’s training - 🏃19 miles with 15 miles steady in the middle in (1.27.02) then straight to turbo for 35mins easy spin

Any podcast listeners out there?! 🤔
Tonight's run was all about just getting the miles in (and avoiding the cold ❄️😂) so a treadmill run it was!! .
I have got a bit of a love hate relationship with the treadmill! Sometimes I love getting on one and getting the miles done, but other times I just find running on a treadmill so boring!! To try and prevent any boredom tonight I thought I would give listening to a podcast a go as I've seen and heard a lot of people recommending them! .
I went for @marathontalk tonight and I enjoyed it but has anyone got any other brill podcast recommendations? I really want to give it a go throughout marathon training, anything to make the miles tick by a little bit faster 😂
Where does your life insurance policy take you?? Does it sit in a drawer or encourage you to get active and reward you for doing so??

I really enjoyed todays long run! I felt quite strong throughout, I think the strength training is starting to pay off. I also got to stop and hang out with some of my hairy ginger brethren! 16 miles at 10 min mile pace ♥♥♥
#flashback to the #birminghaminternationalmarathon my first ever Marathon. 😎🏅
This photo was about half a mile from the finish line and I took a moment to remember all the work and the hundreds of miles that went into making this moment a reality. The moment I realised I was about to forfil a dream.
When I don't feel good enough or I'm struggling with confidence I like to think back to this day. I was ill, scared and unsure of what was to come during the race but pushed through regardless and now have the memories that will last a lifetime.
I'm not quick or have any kind of natural fitness or running ability but I wanted it bad enough that I put the effort in and did what I would have called 12 months previously 'impossible'. This time next year I'll have done (🤞) 5 marathons (including 2 majors) and 20 half marathons. I can't bloody wait 😊 especially the Surrey Half with @hevsipie.
What are your goals for next year?
Rocking a new trend today, the bob hat & sunnies look.
Back out running today, a little burst of pace before slowing right down for some technique drills.
▪️1km warm up
▪️5km fast (20:04)
▪️2km cool down
The 5k would have comfortably been sub 19 but a lady stopped to ask me for directions 🤷🏼♂️ do you keep running and pretend you didn’t hear her or help her out. I sacrificed that first mile to help her out but it was tempting to run away from her 😂
